Half Controller Half Mouse

Mouse problems with dual screens. I am currently using 2 screens (laptop and external monitor.) The set up is that the external screen is my main screen with my laptop sitting next to it on the right hand side. I have noticed I have to move the mouse to the left of the external screen to get it onto the laptop screen. Not a major drama.

3 years agoI was trying different options for PC couch gaming last night and decided to see if the controller still functions while using the mouse.
IT DOES!
I mapped some moves to the LT, LB and L3 on my Xbox One controller and the rest were mapped to the buttons on my mouse.

It actually works perfect. The analog stick movement is much more precise than WASD and because of Overwatch's limited buttons it works perfectly.
Also it was much more comfortable to hold the controller in my left hand and rest it on my lap while using the mouse on the cushion to my right.

So I have been playing Overwatch since it came out on console but have recently upgraded my PC to be able to run the game smoothly so I can play with my brother.
I was wondering if it's okay to be playing with the left half of the controller to move and such (xbox one elite controller) as well as using a mouse to aim. I have remapped all the controls for both and feel much more comfortable doing this as I am used to using a controller, but the mouse lets me stay competitive with aiming.
Just thought it wouldn't be okay as mouse and keyboard is frowned upon when used on console.
Let me know your opinions. :-)

I've too had this thought. I've also tried getting a joystick to see if that helps.
There's a Youtube video of a guy doing this online, exactly what you want to do, but he has to fight with the UI constantly changing between controller vs mouse/keyboard. Maybe there is a way to sort this now?

Yeah I've noticed the UI changing when doing this but it doesn't seem to affect the gameplay it just seems to be a visual thing.
Strange how the chat box changes size though when switching the UI. The abilities changing doesn't bother me too much as neither show the correct buttons with the abilities anyway.

THERE IS A SOLUTION I JUST DISCOVERED AND TRIED FOR MYSELF FOR HYBRID CONTROLLERS ON THE PC!
The Hori TAC Grip G1
I wanted something to replace my PS Move Controller, and thought a good solution might be the Hori Tac Grip..It is advertised as a PS4/PS3 controller with a mouse attachment, but it works great on the PC (just flip the switch to PS3 for XInput Mode)
AND IF YOU DOWNLOAD AN UPDATE, IT CAN RECOGNIZE THE CONTROLLER AS A KEYBOARD! (Analog stick is programmed to be WASD, SO NO HANZO/ZEN GLITCH)
Just download the software to edit, follow update instructions on the website as shown, and WALA! No Hanzo/Zenyatta glitch! (Controller is a bit pricey though..100$ on Amazon)
*Don't plug in the mouse directly to the controller, as it will act as an analog stick. Just use any mouse of your choice as normal*
*The firmware update is REQUIRED for this device to be recognized as a keyboard..if you don't update the device firmware, it will just recognize the device as a controller*
I will be using a lot more Zen/Hanzo now that it doesn't switch between the skills anymore.
