Battle For Azeroth Ui Changes

I like this aspect of WoW for UI customizability a lot. I think I won't notice any changes regardless of how major changes they make, unless they change how addons work too. But if you are using the default UI, I understand it is not easy to accept changes to something that you have been used to for a long time (mandatory 7.3.5 scaling mention. Nov 14, 2018 - With the release of Battle for Azeroth Beta, the WoW User Interface team would like to highlight some upcoming changes that will affect addon.

Battle For Azeroth Release Date

I love that Blizz is finally changing the default UI to something more sleek and compact. I currently have the exact same UI setup by using the Dominos action bar replacement addon. Most of my toons have a three bar setup, with all three bars stacked on top of each other. My only turn off with the UI change in BFA is that if you want that 'third' bar, you can only add an extra six buttons to the first and second bar, ending up with pretty much the current UI configuration. Please add the possibility for a proper third action bar.
i wish they would give us extra buttons.
It tickles me that blizzard heard the many complaints that 'my bars feel empty now' and took away the exact opposite of the intended message.
Honestly at this point I just hope it doesn't cause issues with the addons everyone already uses.
Blizzard had years, YEARS, to do something with their basic UI, but instead decided to pawn it off as so many developers do, to their dedicated resident slave class, the modders.
At this point, most people still won't play the base UI, no matter how many 'improvements' have been made.

I play with the base UI:(
I'm not really liking the current changes and would like the option of the old UI. Knowing Blizz they won't give me said option.
Wait what?? Hopefully it's not too big of a chang or the option to keep the current.

I'd like to see your sauce on that claim. I play with the base UI. I've tried others and didn't like them.

Doesn't seem like they changed how many buttons we have, just moved the Micro bar and Bag bar to the bottom right hand corner of the screen and re-arranged the bar above the Micro/Bag bar to take over the spot. It feels more condensed and a better set up.
I think it looks bad. The small UI gave me the impression they're trying to hide the fact that there is less abilities, and they aren't going do anything about it.

Well that never applied to PvP players and i sure as hell hope they add a 3rd row on the right side or something to make up for the lost keybind slots as Arena123 macros take a lot of space.
Most of my CC spells and such are bound 4 times, for example.

Same here. I've tried other UIs, and I can see at least some of their appeal. I'm just used to the base one. I can find everything I need to quickly.
Chances are, though, if Blizzard comes out with a significantly different new UI, with no option to use the old one, someone will come up with a mod for it.

I don't think the changes are really drastic at all from what I've seen, so I don't fully understand the complaints about Blizzard's changes.
That said, I think the AddOn system is a pretty great compromise. Those who enjoy the default UI get to keep it, those who want a different aesthetic can have it. It's pretty cool.

Loss of keybind space is the problem.

Some of us still prefer playing with the base UI and while this doesn't apply to me, people playing in PvP tournaments also have to play with the basic UI as its what they have during LANs.

It's not a huge change, it just moves the options menu and bags right and seperated from the action bars, splits the upper right bar from a 1x12 to 2 stacks of 1x6. The extra action bars on the right can still be enabled as well, and UI scaling still allows you to made the action bars to the size you want.

Loss of keybind space? You have the same number of bars.

Oh, didn't see that, no worries then.
Battle for Actions bars.
When a MOBA has more complex classes than WoW.

It looks asymmetrical and drives me absolutely bat!@#$ nuts.

I don't like the bags and micro bar off to the side like that.
AzerothLooks asymmetrical and drives me nuts. I want it ALL inside the gryphons.

I know a lot of people do, but a lot of people don't. I stopped the second there was an alternative. I think the one I started with was called Cosmos back in Vanilla and I've been modding the UI ever since.
Most other games have some sort of moveable UI. That would be nice and would solve many of the problems I have with the UI.
