Windows 10 Can't verify microsoft account. I have re-installed Win 10 multiple times because of some problems and this time when I clicked Verify either through.

I've been trying to setup a Microsoft Account, but I don't have a cell phone. I tried contacting MS Support and they basically told me to get a cell phone.

I think it's honestly ridiculous given that I gave them my alternate email address and my home phone number, but still I need a cell to receive the activation code.

I just want to try out Windows 10 with Cortana and whatever other MS Account features it has since I've never used any of that stuff before (I strictly use Windows 7).

Has anyone else tried (and succeeded) in setting up an account without a cell phone? How? Also, I tried using a whole slew of services/applications that give you a temporary 'text-enabled' phone number, but the MS Account sign up said it couldn't use those numbers.

Edit: I tried the solutions you offered, still haven't been able to get a verification code. I guess I'll just wait it out for now. Who knows, maybe I'll end up with a cell phone soon lol.
